Clothing Collection Label 09/09/2009

The Company Reg No is listed at the Companies Registration Office Website... as belonging to a company which last made an annual return to the CRO in 2003 and was dissolved in September 2005.
At least there is the word "Export" somewhere on the label. Do you think the goods support the "cheltered housing" as claimed?

Chair & Carpet Care 07/09/2009

Recalling that the inclusion of any advert on this site does not necessarily mean approval of the service advertised, I nonetheless feel that this man appears to have given some thought to how to make a shilling in a time of recession.
People may well be more inclined to have furniture cleaned rather than replaced, assuming the price is right.
Like me, however, he ain't above an occasional typo in a vital place. I hope he negotiated a suitable discount from the printers.
A card I might keep around for a while... Or I may just come back and look at it here!

Salsa Slims 07/09/2009
"Dancercise" class providers claim they are a way of getting fit and meeting new friends. Who could doubt them? Stepping Out Salsa Slims popped a multi page leaflet in the door today.

Clothing Collection Label 05/09/2009

There are a number of concerns I have about these collections and how they're advertised.
If a business is operating and recycling items, why doesn't it state that this is its business? Surely people would find this acceptable.
If you wish to trace a business activity, legitimate companies and businesses are listed on the Companies Registrations Office website and basic information can be found there for free.
If an organisation is an Irish charity, the Revenue Commissioners Website lists all organisations whose tax status has been acknowledged as being connected with charitable work.
There is no charities register in Ireland, so leaflets which list a "Charity Number" should probably be treated as disingenuous.
Irish charities have advised people to bring recyclable items to bring centres, or re-usable clothing to charity shops because of concerns about the activities of door-to-door collectors.
Welcome -- Here's what the blog is about.
Every day of the week someone puts something unsolicited into our letterbox. It usually goes directly (and unread) into the recycling bin. Thinking about it, this unwanted junk might actually be useful in mapping part of our local cultural and economic condition. So I'm going to give the rubbish the honour of being scanned and put onto the Internet for posterity. I think this might be amusing when enough time goes by. For now, suffice it to say the adverts and leaflets are genuine, they are circulating in the Dublin, Ireland, area and I hope you find some merit in the project.
